Giuseppe Lisco

Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Italian Group Leader - Hiden Mokuroku 

(VII°Dan Aikido Iwama Ryu)

He is the National Technical Director of Iwama Ryu Aikido (UISP Federation).

He has received the Hiden Mokuroku and has been elected by Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei as his only official representative in Italy for the Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu.

He started practicing Iwama Ryu Aikido in 1994 at the Aikido dojo of Carpi, under the guidance of Giuseppe Lisco Sensei.

He gained in 1999, 2002 and 2005 the degree of I°, II° and III° Dan under the technical directions of Giorgio Oscari Sensei.

In 2007 he joined the Aikido group directed by Lisco Sensei who, in the meantime, became the national technical director of Iwama Ryu Aikido (UISP Federation).

In 2010 he got the IV° Dan Iwama Ryu Aikido rank.

For the first time (2008) he met Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei, Menkyo Kaiden Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu, during his first seminar in Milan, and, since then, he has been constantly practicing Daito Ryu under his direction.

Since 2009 he has been taking part to all Summer Camps directed by Kondo Sensei in Japan and cooperating with the organization of the seminars which have taken place in Italy since 2009.

He went to the Netherlands on several occasions to join Daito Ryu seminars held by Kondo Sensei, Hasegawa Sensei (Kyoju Dairi) and Breedveld Sensei (Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu European Representative).

In 2010 he successfully passed the Shodan test and, in August 2012 and 2014, he got the II° and III° Dan at the Nippon Budokan in Katsuura. Thanks to the latter he was appointed by Kondo Sensei as Branch Chief of the Carpi group At the same time, the Dojo of Carpi was recognized as direct branch of Honbu Dojo in Tokyo. In 2017 he passed the Yondan test in Katsuura (Japan) and in 2018 he received the Hiden Mokuroku scroll. In 2023 he passed the Godan test.

Luca Canovi

V°Dan - Hiden Mokuroku

Born in 1977, he started practicing Iwama Ryu Aikido in 1992 under the guidance of Giuseppe Lisco Sensei. He improved his training also as uchideshi in Iwama (Japan) in 2001 and 2002 and attended various seminars held by many important european Masters. Since 2001 he has been technical Manager of Reggio Emilia courses at the "Shodan School of Martial Arts".

In March 2008 for the first time he met Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei at Shimbukan dojo in Tokyo and, since the international seminar held by Kondo Sensei in Milan in October 2008, he began studying Daito-Ryu Aikijujutsu, attending all his seminars in Europe.

Since 2009, together with the Italian group, he has been taking part in the Intensive Summer Camps organized every August in Japan at the Nippon Budokan in Katsuura.

In 2013 in Serbia and in 2014 in Malta he directed two seminars together with Alex Muracchini Sensei to favour the growth and development of these study groups.

In 2014 he passed the III° Dan test and received the prestigious title of Branch-Chief by Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei. From then on the dojo of Reggio Emilia was recognized as direct branch of Honbu Dojo in Tokyo. In August 2017 he successfully passed the IV° Dan test in Katsuura (Japan) and in 2018 he received the Hiden Mokuroku scroll. In 2023 he passed the V° Dan test.

In addition to teaching in his dojo, in Italy he organizes and promotes activities, in collaboration with Lisco Sensei and Alex Muracchini Sensei, for the promotion and development of the Daito-Ryu Aikijujutsu main line.

Milan & Turin - Hokusei branch leader

Born in 1986, he began studying martial arts and Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu in 2007 with Antonino Certa Sensei (Daitokai). At the same time he started practicing Karate Uechi-ryu (Okikukai) and Okinawa’s Kobudo (Kenryo Ryukai) under the guidance of Fulvio Zilioli Sensei, with whom he has reached the rank of III° and I° Dan.

In October 2008, during the seminar in Milan, he met Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei for the first time and from that

moment he decided to follow his teachings, joining in many stages directed by him in Italy and abroad.

For years he attended intensive seminars in Katsuura, Japan, where in 2012, in 2016 and in 2019, he received the I° , II°  and III° Dan and the title of Branch leader of the dojo of Milan, the city where he currently lives, works and directs the lessons. In August 2023 he passed the IV° Dan test in Katsuura (Japan).
